Adobe Photoshop Cs2 Mac Download: The Ultimate Guide for Creative Professionals

swatogenri1976

Since this release, the Adobe Web site has been flooded with activity, so you may have to either wait for it to come back online, or access the download links directly through the SlickDeals Web site (the previous link on this page direct-links to Adobe's servers).

Adobe Creative Suite 2 (CS2) which was released on 2nd April 2005 is now FREE, yes FREE as in $0, you can download it from the official Adobe CS2 Download Page or from the table below which I copied out.

There is a funny controversy developing in some of the posts on this subject you'll find on various forums and web pages. On the one hand people approached Adobe complaining that they paid thousands of dollars for this software and that it's freely available now. To calm this down Adobe representatives have said on such forums that of course the software is only intended for those who did previously buy a license. On the other hand intentions declared on forums are pretty irrelevant. There is no clear official statement, the blog post we quoted above is totally ambiguous and the actual download pages continue to be public and completely devoid of any such purpose declaration. There are no extra conditions for you agree to in order to download the software or to see its static serial numbers. The EULA you are presented when installing the software sais "If you obtained the Software from Adobe or one of its authorized licensees and as long as you comply with the terms of this agreement, Adobe grants you a non-exclusive license to use the Software in the manner and for the purposes described in the Documentation, as further set forth below." It says nothing about having purchased the software except where it comes to warranty, transferability of licenses and the like but as we pointed out before you'll have to sort out what all of this means legally for yourself.

Adobe Photoshop is a raster graphics editor developed and published by Adobe Inc. for Windows and macOS. It was originally created in 1987 by Thomas and John Knoll. Since then, the software has become the most used tool for professional digital art, especially in raster graphics editing. The software's name is often colloquially used as a verb (e.g. "to photoshop an image", "photoshopping", and "photoshop contest")[6] although Adobe discourages such use.[7]

Photoshop and derivatives such as Photoshopped (or just Shopped) have become verbs that are sometimes used to refer to images edited by Photoshop,[33] or any image manipulation program. The same happens not only in English but as the Portuguese Wikipedia entry for image manipulation attests, even in that language, with the trademark being followed by the Portuguese verb termination -ar, yielding the word "photoshopar" (to photoshop). Such derivatives are discouraged by Adobe[7] because, in order to maintain validity and protect the trademark from becoming generic, trademarks must be used as proper nouns.[citation needed]

Update 2: This update goes here because circumstances have changed. If you missed the hype, Arstechnica.com has a great explanation of what happened. The download link still works for a select few, so feel free to try, but don't be surprised if it doesn't work any more. Read on for the original post and a short explanation...

In short, Adobe wanted to help those who still had valid, purchased CS2 licenses be able to still activate new installations (if they, say, changed computers or hard drives) after they had retired the CS2 activation server. For some reason, they chose to provide free access to these customers (and everyone, subsequently) to a new, downloadable version with serial numbers that would not require activation, but that would at least unlock the software -- all you needed to do was create or use your existing Adobe ID. After realizing their mistake, they briefly made another, removing the requirement to enter an Adobe ID altogether, before finally shutting down the links and redirecting those who visited them to the current CS6 site. As stated, Arstechnica has a more thorough explanation if you want to know more...

In an interesting move, Adobe has made the 2005 CS2 Premium Plus suite available as a free download for Windows and Mac platforms. While the software will have issues with some newer computers and though the software is dated, it's all here on Adobe's site, serial numbers and all. What do you guys make of this?

It's a really nice advertising move on their part. They won't really lose any customers but get a shit load of exposure through Facebook, Twitter, F-Stopper,Google+, ISO1200.........And it doesn't even cost them anything. The professionals will go for the never version 5 and above. Or will download it for their second PC. It's nice for those, who only use Gimp atm. And that's where the advertising part comes into play, again. You get the customers away from the other products and into Adobe. That way you might even get some new customers for the payed versions. And it's working perfectly. Take a look at FB, or Twitter. You can't look at one of the Social media sides without seeing at least 3 posts about it.

Curb your enthusiasm, folks. No such thing as free lunch. Yes, its free to download, but it's NOT free for use. This is only for those, who purchased a copy of CS 2 back in 2005 and now Adobe is closing the registration severs for this product - that's why they are giving the keys. Anybody tried to register the downloaded copy? Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but IMHO that's no way to do it.

Years ago Adobe shut down their activation servers for CS2 software (this includes CS2 versions of Photoshop, Indesign, etc), due to the cost of running servers for software no longer supported by Adobe. Fortunately at the time they were smart enough to realize that people's computers crash sometimes and may require a reinstall of software if you had to format your drive, so they provided activation free versions for customers (though anybody could download it because they didn't put protections on their website).

That's where WinWorld PC comes in. While you don't host them yet, I'm hoping that you will at some point choose to host all of the activation-free CS2 versions of Adobe's software on this website. Note that I'm NOT talking about other activation-based versions (such as those that came on physical disks) that would now require cracks to get past activation. I'm talking ONLY about the versions that previously were available for download, but are no longer available, on Adobe's website, and these versions NEVER required activation (so no cracks were needed for them). I'm hoping that WWPC can now start hosting these on their own website.

Not every one of the links works on Wayback Machine. Some of them give me a 504 server error. That's not an archived 504 error from the Adobe website. That's a 504 error from web.archive.org's servers. Either they are overloaded, or they are intentionally blocking downloads to some downloads for copyright reasons. I'm not sure which.

The one that wasn't working (haven't tested any others after this one failed) was After Effects for Windows. I FINALLY got it to download though (after several days of trying, it FINALLY worked). As I said though, I haven't tested any others after that one initially failed. I did get Creative Suite 2 for Windows first though, before I got stopped at After Affects. Howerver that Creative Suite 2 bundle only has 4 of the CS2 products in it (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and Version Cue). I'll try more of the CS2 downloads on Wayback Machine tonight, to see how many actually work.

I have personally managed to get all of them except for After Effects. It would be worth noting that I found a couple of these on TechNet (where PS and Premiere were available), and the downloads there were the same size as the ones downloaded from the Wayback Machine. Currently finishing up downloading Illustrator and Premiere Pro. I am wanting to upload these to archive.org as well as give them to whoever I need to for WinWorld. It should be noted that I have only bothered with the Windows versions of these files, and not the Mac. I may get around to that eventually.

Adobe Photoshop CS2 for Mac OS X version 10.2.8 through 10.3.8, Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4 or Windows XP with Service Pack 1 or 2, will begin shipping in May to customers in the United States and Canada, and will be available through Adobe Authorized Resellers and the Adobe Store at www.adobe.com/store . International versions are expected to begin shipping in late May and early June. Adobe Photoshop CS2 will be available for an estimated street price of US$599 and licensed users of any previous version of Photoshop can upgrade for US$149.

Update: It appears that the downloads and universal serial numbers are intended for customers who need to re-install (the CS2 activation server was killed of at the end of last year).

I came across a Redmond Pie article called How To Download Adobe Photoshop CS2 For Free Legally. According to the article there were technical problems with the CS2 product activation and these products are no longer supported anyway. As a result Adobe is allowing Mac and PC versions of CS2 software to be downloaded for free and in addition providing the activation number for you to type in. To do this you have to sign in with your Adobe ID or create an ID first. The CS2 and other time related products are:

The ZIP file that you will download contains five Night Sky Starlit Backgrounds in three resolutions: Full Size: 4000x2250 pixels (16:9), Widescreen Size: 1365x768 pixels (16:9), and Standard Size: 1024x768 (4:3). Also included are five PowerPoint Presentations with Night Sky Starlit Backgrounds, set to work with the Morph transition. Yes, these background designs can also animate between slides using PowerPoint's Morph transition. 2ff7e9595c
